ISLAMABAD: Widespread rain/dust thundershower with isolated high falls, accompanied with strong gusty winds, are expected in ICT, upper and southern Punjab, Khaber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan Gilgit-Baltistan and FATA during next 24 hours. Met Office reported that monsoon rains are likely to start from upper parts of the country that will spread towards central and southern parts of the country during the week. All concerned authorities are advised to remain alert during the coming week because there is high probability of isolated heavy downpours which may generate flash flooding in hilly terrain and urban flooding in big cities, an official of Met office told APP. Rainfall is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Multan, D.G Khan, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat divisions, Kashmir, Kalat, Makran ,Sibbi, Nasirabad divisions whereas scattered Rain/Dust-thundershowers with strong gusty winds expected in Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad, Karachi, Sukkar , Larkana, Quetta, Zhob while at isolated places in Malakand, Bannu, D.I Khan divisions and FATA. Low pressure lies over central Balochistan and its adjoining areas. Weak moist currents from Arabian sea are penetrating northeastern parts of Balochistan and its adjoining areas. A shallow westerly wave is also present over upper western parts of the country. In last 24 hours weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country. However, rain-thunderstorm occurred at isolated places in Gujranwala, Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Kohat, Kalat divisions and Kashmir. Rainfall recorded during this time span remained Balakot 10mm, Chirat 05mm, Dir, Malamjabba 03mm, Khuzdar 01mm, Rawalakot 21mm, Kotli 04mm, Mandibahauddin 12mm, Murree 02mm, Mangla 01mm and Mithi 09mm. Maximum temperatures recorded on Sunday were Bhakkar 470C, Dadu 460C, Turbat, Sibbi, Jacobabad, Okara, Bahawalnagar, Kot Addu and NoorpurThal 450C, Islamabad 410C, Lahore 410C, Karachi 380C, Peshawar 420C, Quetta 380C, Gilgit 370C, Chitral 340C, Hunza 280C, Muzaffarabad 390C, Murree 270C, Skardu 330C, Faisalabad 440C, Multan 440C, Hyderabad 400C, Dir 320C and Kalat 290C.
