ISLAMABAD: Ninety six percent candidates who sat National Examination Board (NEB) exam for medical degree holders from foreign universities were declared successful in the result announced on Wednesday. As many as 786 candidates sat the step III exam needed to be passed by foreign graduates to be considered for registration as medical practitioners. Of these, 756 passed the exam. The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) administered the exam in four parts this year. The first part took place on July 15th, second on 16th, third on 22nd, and fourth on 23rd. An official statement released by the council stated that in the first part 200 candidates sat the exam and 188 were declared successful – a pass percentage of 94. In part II, the pass percentage increased to 96, as 192 of the 200 candidates were declared successful. The pass percentage improved further to 98 in the part III, 196 of the 200 candidates who sat the exam were declared successful. In part IV, 186 candidates were being to secure passing marks out of the 200 who sat the exam. The PMDC statement said that results of the exams were uploaded on the website on the day they were administered to facilitate test takers. Results with roll numbers and other particulars are available on the website, it said. PMDC president Prof Shabir Lehri has praised the management of the National University of Modern Sciences (NUMS), NEB Committee and PMDC staff for conducting the examination successfully.
