ISLAMABAD: The Mayor of Islamabad and the Chairman, Capital Development Authority (CDA), Sheikh Ansar Aziz has said that in order to boost business activities and make industries flourish in Islamabad, the road infrastructure will be improved and allied facilities would be ensured. Furthermore, a comprehensive strategy would be evolved to expand the industries in Islamabad so that growing needs of the city could be tackled effectively. He said that the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and the CDA would take consolidated steps to resolve the problems of the business community of the city. He said that in the wake of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the industries in Islamabad would be prepared to meet the future modern requirements, so that products of these industries could be supplied to the other parts of the country as well. The mayor directed to constitute a committee comprising the officers of the MCI, the CDA and the representatives of traders who will compile and submit recommendations for the solution of the genuine issues of the traders’ community particularly of the industrial sector so that a comprehensive and consolidated strategy could be evolved in this regard. He also said that on the directions of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, a Building Control Authority was also being constituted and representations of traders would be made at that authority, which would help prepare and ensure an effective enforcement of the building laws. Sheikh Ansar Aziz said that the CDA had approved allocation of spaces for a mosque and a dispensary in the Industrial Area and that the concerned formations had been directed to initiate work in this regard at the earliest.
