ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has ordered placing the Capital Development Authority (CDA) under the administrative control of Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD). Presently the CDA is under the control of cabinet division. Meanwhile, CDA plans to operate feeder buses for the Metro routes and to enhance the overall traffic facilities in the capital city within four months. According to a press release issued by CDA, the authority is in advance stage of planning to run 22 buses covering major routes and areas of the capital city to facilitate the residents. On the designated routes, a bus will operate after 30 minutes. The process for selection of the bus operators is likely to be commenced in December and it is expected that the feeder routes would be operational within four-month time. The initial estimate for operations and maintenance of the feeder buses is Rs 200 to 250 million per annum. The transparent process for hiring of the bus operators for operations and maintenance of the buses would be carried out in a systematic manner at the earliest. It is expected that the buses would not only facilitate the commuters embarking the metro bus service but also the general public. The authority has planned four routes for this purpose. First route will commence from Bhara Khu upto Marghzar Zoo covering Dhokri, Aabpara, federal government services hospital (Policlinic) and F6 Sector. The second route would be from Rawat to Faisal Mosque. Third route will commence from Tarnol up to Fatima Jinnah (F9) Park / Ibn-e-Seena Road metro station and would cover Sector G13 and in between areas of G and F sectors including Markaz G9 (Karachi Company). The fourth route will operate upto IJ Principal Road metro station commencing from railway carriage factory.
