ISLAMABAD: The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali on Saturday directed the Chief Secretary, IGP and the DG Rangers Sindh to effect the early recovery of Barrister Owais Ali Shah son of Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, Chief Justice, Sindh High Court. According to Shahid Hussain, a spokesperson of the Supreme Court, the Chief Justice of Pakistan held separate meetings with the Chief Secretary and the Home Secretary Sindh, the IGP and other police officers of the operation and investigation wings of the Sindh Police and the DG Rangers Sindh at the Supreme Court Branch Registry, Karachi. On this occasion, all the officials concerned briefed the CJ on the kidnapping of Barrister Owais Ali Shah and the measures taken by the Sindh Government for the recovery of the abducted person. Expressing grave concerns over the issue, the CJP directed them to take effective and concerted measures to ensure the recovery of the son of the Sindh High Court Chief Justice. He said that the mishap had sent a wrong message to the general public and had caused disappointment and a sense of insecurity amongst the judges and their families. He directed the Chief Secretary to employ all the resources to ensure an improvement in the law and order situation of Sindh in general and Karachi in particular. Owais was abducted in Clifton area earlier this week by unidentified miscreants after he exited a superstore. He had returned from London a few months ago after completing his law degree.
