ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Monday discussed regional security, military-to-military relations, enhanced defence collaboration and military training exchanges with his counterparts in Jordan. The chief of army staff Monday arrived in Jordan on a two-day official visit. He was given unprecedented reception on the airport. Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Jordanian Armed Forces, Gen Mashal Al-Zaben and Chief of Royal Jordanian Air Force Major General Mansour Al Jobour received him at the airport. The army chief Prince Al-Hassan bin Talal and also called on Chief of Royal Jordanian Air Force Major General Mansour AlJobour. The COAS also held separate meetings with Gen Mashal Al-Zaben, chairman Joint chief of Staff Jordanian Armed forces, and Lt Gen Prince Feisal Bin El Hussein. Later at an exclusive ceremony, Gen Raheel Sharif was awarded the most prestigious Jordanian medal of merit for displaying remarkable courage in leading Pakistan Army in the face of multiple threats, especially the menace of terrorism and efforts to promote peace and stability in the region. So far, the chief of Army Staff has been given several international awards by different countries including: Order of Abdulaziz Al Saud (Saudi Arabia), Legion of Merit (United States), Order of Military Merit (Brazil), Medal of Merit (Jordan) and the Turkish Legion of Merit.
