ISLAMABAD: The laptop distribution ceremony for the students of the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) under the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, phase-II, was held here at the NUML on Monday. The Rector NUML, Major General Ziauddin Najam (Retd) was the chief guest of the ceremony while the Director Administration NUML. Brig (R) Zia ul Hassan Sahi, registrars, deans, directors, heads of departments and a large number of students were also present on the occasion. Ziauddin Najam, in his speech said that it was great initiative of the government to give laptops to the students. He said. “We are lacking behind in the information technology sector as compared with the rest of the world and it is the duty of our youth to take advantages of the facilities provided by the government. The Rector said that the youth was the real asset of the country and the future of Pakistan lies in the hands of the younger generation as today’s youth will lead the country in the coming future and a great responsibility lay on their shoulders. It is worth to mentioning here that 1308 laptops were distributed among the students in which 808 laptops were for the main campus and 500 laptops were distributed among the students of regional campuses of the NUML.
