ISLAMABAD: First group of 80 Pakistani students would pursue classes in their respective disciplines from the coming fall session. Hungary’s State Minister for Education Dr Laszlo Palkovics and Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairperson Dr Mukhtar Ahmed discussed it in a call on meeting between both the dignitaries. Both the countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) last year in this connection for awarding 240 scholarships to Pakistani students giving them an opportunity for benefiting from Hungarian institutions, said a news release. Dr Palkovics expressed the desire to establish long-term relationship under the umbrella of Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme. He also highlighted that among the list of 48 countries, number of applications from Pakistan is the highest. Dr Mukhtar Ahmed expressed the gratitude for scholarships offer by the Hungarian government. He also gave a brief introduction of the higher education sector of Pakistan.
