Islamabad: The Superintendent of City Police on Monday allegedly made hostage two employees of Diplomatic Bonded Warehouse at the diplomatic area for extortion. According to reliable sources, police official Zulfiqar entered the diplomatic area with handcuffs and harassed two employees of Diplomatic Bonded Warehouse in front of dozens of foreign ambassadors and made them hostage. It was further revealed that police official Zulfiqar demanded Rs 2 million for the early release of hostage workers. According to law, police officials have no right to enter a sensitive diplomatic area without informing the concerned police secretariat for any action. The main objective of Zulfqar’s actions was to get extortion but he gave reason for his illegal action that the warehouse had no excise license although custom officials issued the license of Diplomatic Bonded Warehouse.
