PESHAWAR: A delegation of Final International University Cyprus met the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Law Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi here on Thursday and offered scholarships for the students of the province. The delegation led by Prof. Dr. Cem Birol held the meeting with law minister at the Finance Department Committee Room at the Provincial Assembly building. Talking to Daily Times, Professor Cem Birol said that the Final International University of Cyprus will offer scholarships in the field of tourism and engineering department to the students of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He further said that Final International University is registered with Turkish High Education Commission and one of the leading universities in Turkey and across the globe. He said that the university would provide a fully funded scholarship to the students of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They asked the KP government to support their initiative in this regard. He said that with the consultation of the provincial government, they would finalise the selection criteria of students and finalise application processes for students accordingly. The delegation head informed said the university would also support the students after completion of their degrees and provide them job opportunities in private companies according to their respective fields. On the occasion Minister for Law Imtiaz Shahid Qurashi assured the full support to the delegation and said that the provincial government will provide all possible support in this regard. He added and said that because of the financial problems faced by the students, they did not get higher education and the step taken by the Final International University is appreciated to provide scholarships to the KP students. On the occasion the Minister also appreciated the sacrifices of the Turkish people to foil a dictatorship attempt and said that Pakistan would always support Turkey’s democratic government.
