ISLAMABAD: Federal Law Minister Zahid Hamid advised Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during the cabinet meeting on Thursday to announce midterm elections in the country. The prime minister told the law minister that he would not let the parliament suffer due to an issue relating to him. A number of ministers at the cabinet meeting tried to seek time from the prime minister for separate meetings, but the prime minister left after addressing the cabinet meeting. During the meeting, the news regarding the termination of 11 army officers and two soldiers from the service on corruption charges stunned the cabinet members, including Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. On this occasion, two ministers sought time from the prime minister for separate meetings, but he dismissed their requests. It is worth mentioning here that Chief of Army Staff Raheel Sharif has terminated the services of 11 army officers for their alleged involvement in corrupt practices.
