RAWALPINDI: The education department of Rawalpindi has served final notice on 400 government as well as private educational institutions for not taking security measures as per the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the Punjab government. The development came after the Special Branch of police and the district administration expressed serious concerns over the poor security arrangements taken by the educational institutions across the district. Despite the issuance of clear warnings to all educational institutions by the Punjab government, most private and government schools have failed to put up proper security arrangements including security guards, CCTV cameras, barbed wires and high boundary walls. The district education department of Rawalpindi security matters In-charge Akhlaq Ahmed said that the educational institutions would be sealed if they failed to ensure the required security within a period of one week.
