ISLAMABAD: Hashoo Group chairman Sadruddin Hashwani hosted a reception at the Islamabad Marriott Hotel to honour the Champions Trophy-winning Pakistan Cricket Team on Thursday. The event was attended by ambassadors, showbiz celebrities and members of the business community. Hashwani awarded a cheque of Rs500,000 to skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Rs300,000 each to the remaining fifteen players. He also announced three-day complimentary stay for the players at any of the Pearl Continental and Marriott hotels in Pakistan. Speaking on the occasion, Hashwani lauded the performance of the team and congratulated them for uniting the entire nation in support of their spectacular win. He said the young team demonstrated dedication, excellence and patriotism all the way. Pakistan Cricket Board executive chairman Najam Sethi in his brief speech thanked the management of Hashoo Group for recognising the efforts of the cricket team. Umer Sharif, famous stand-up comedian, entertained the audience with his wit and humour. The event was followed by dinner coupled with a music performance by famed singer Sanam Marvi.
