ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Museum of Natural History (PMNH) is going to organise a one-day training workshop titled “Gemology and modern techniques of lapidary and International Earth Day celebrations” today (Thursday) at PMNH Garden Avenue Shakarparian. The inaugural session of the workshop will be held at morning. Pakistan Science Foundation Chairman Prof Dr Muhammad Ashraf will be the chief guest for the event. Experienced gemstone experts will share their professional experiences with the entrepreneurs, students regarding knowledge of gemstone, their type, value, identification, classification, gradation, cutting, polishing and pricing. The workshop would also shed light on the assessment criteria for various gemstones and outline a general pricing strategy for different marketing conditions. The speakers will also focus on the importance of Earth Day celebration to raise awareness on environmental challenges threatening our mother earth.
