ISLAMABAD: The chairman directed Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senior leaders of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to mobilise all resources in support of the party candidates for provincial assembly seat KP-8 of Malik Tamash Khan. The PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari gave these directions during a meeting with a delegation of senior party leaders from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday in Zardari House Islamabad. Those who called on him included former Speaker Karamat Khan, Senator Khanzada Khan, Senator Rubina Khalid, former provincial ministers including Rahimdad Khan, Humayun Khan and Zahir Shah, Peshawar former mayor Azam Afridi, ex-MNA Noor Alam Afridi and Nighat Aurakzai, former Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi, Shazi Khan, Advocate Akbar Momand, PPP candidate for KP-8 Malik Tamash Khan and PPP spokesperson Senator Farhatullah Babar. PPP Information secretary Qamar Kaira and Political Secretary Jamil Soomro were also present in the meeting. The delegation briefed the party chairman on the political situation in the province and the latest situation with regard to the forthcoming by-election of provincial assembly seat in Peshawar KP-8. The party ticket for the provincial Assembly seat KP-8 has been awarded to Malik Tamash Khan who was also present in the meeting. The PPP chairman directed the senior party leaders to mobilise all resources in support of the party candidate. Bilawal Bhutto expressed concern over the threatening calls made to party candidate Malik Tamash by some militants to discourage him from openly carrying out the election campaign and directed that the matter should be raised with relevant authorities. He also directed the secretary general of the party to bring to lodge a complaint with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against the violations of code of conduct in the constituency. Bilawal Bhutto asked the party candidate and the newly appointed members of the PPP Coordination Committee to keep his secretariat posted regularly about matters relating to the election campaign.
