ISLAMABAD: As the operation against the non-conforming use of land is under way in the Federal Capital Building Control and the Magistrate of the Capital Development Authority has sealed six guest houses in the residential sectors. During the operation, concerned formations of the Authority sealed House No 23 street 28 F-6/1, House No. 15 street 39, F-6/1, House No. 14 street 37 F-6/2, House No. 17 street 42 F-7/1, House No. 3-A F-7/1 and House No. 15 F-10/4. In a move to discourage the commercial activities in the residential areas, many houses have been sealed by the CDA till now. The CDA chairman has directed the concerned formations of the Authority to expedite the ongoing operation against the non-conforming use of the land and told the MCI and the CDA for completing the ongoing development projects in the federal capital. The Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) are following a comprehensive strategy to complete ongoing development projects effectively in the federal capital in the stipulated time. Administration Member, Muhammad Suleman Warraich, expressed these views while briefing a delegation of participants of the 22nd senior management course from the National Management College on the eve of their study tour to the CDA Headquarters. The development work in the stalled sectors as well as on other welfare projects for the residents of the city would also be initiated, he added. Warraich said that on the directions of the Islamabad Mayor and the CDA Chairman, Sheikh Ansar Aziz, development projects of immense importance had been completed adding that development work on other mega projects would be started soon to meet the future requirements of the city. He informed the delegation that the newly elected representatives of the local government, the Mayor MCI and the Chairman CDA, had formulated a comprehensive strategy under which priority would be given to the requirements, opinions and suggestions of the residents of the city, for future planning and development. He informed that the prime minister fulfilled his pledge and for the first time in the history of Islamabad, the Metropolitan Corporation came into being. The newly-elected local government representatives had been given the responsibility of the development of the city, he added. To ensure transparency and merit in the CDA, he said that the present regime had taken result-oriented measures. Transparency and merit were the major components to bring stability in the institutions, he added. He said that priority was being given to developing sectors, adding that besides the development of new sectors, development work in stalled sectors had also been restarted. An effective monitoring system had been made to ensure timely completion of these development projects, the administration member said. He informed the delegation that the latest technology was being utilised for computerising the land record. He said that work on the plan for utilising the latest technology was being carried out at an accelerated pace to introduce the automated system at the “One Window Operation Directorate”. The delegation comprised officers from various civil service groups including Pakistan Administrative Service, Police Service, Secretariat Service, Information Group, Audit and Accounts Service, Foreign Service, Pakistan Customs Service, Inland Revenue Service, Railway Ggroup and Postal Service.
