ISLAMABAD: The affected patient who a few months ago had faced the doctors’ negligence again received a new date of surgery. The doctors of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) have sent back the patient who visited the hospital after seven months of her surgery and gave her February 25 as the new date of surgery. According to details, Jamila (28), a resident of Talagang district Chakwal, was admitted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Science (PIMS) for a cesarean section some seven month ago. She gave birth to a daughter, and was discharged from the hospital immediately after operation. Jamila, due to lack of financial resources could not follow up with the doctors. After seven months, her family members took her to a private hospital in Chakwal when she felt disturbance in stomach. After an X-ray of the patient, the presence of surgical equipment was revealed. Imran, the spouse of victim Jamila, told Online that despite reaching the PIMS at 8am the management of Maternal and Child Healthcare (MCH) Centre, the doctors deputed there refused to admit the patient. “After repeated requests and giving caution to the complaint in the media, my wife was admitted,” Imran added and maintained that despite checking the X-ray report, the lady doctor deputed in MCH Centre was not ready to accept the presence of surgical equipment in her body. Imran further said that lady doctors deputed in MCH of PIMS are saying the presence of tumor in the stomach of my wife to hide their incompetency while surgical equipment can be easily seen in X-ray report. He said that lady doctors and staff of MCH would be responsible in case of any unfortunate incident. Imran added that doctors have severely forbidden me not to discuss this matter with any media person, and said that a tumor existed in the stomach of the patient, which would be removed through minor surgery within a day. Online, when contacted CAAD Nargis Gellou, she said that she would sought report from PIMS on Monday after completing the inquiry while Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Zulifqar Ali Bhutto Medical University is of the view in this regard that it is very dangerous and fatal the presence of surgical equipment in the stomach and its existence in human body for long time of any person adding that Dr. Mazhar Batool is the in-charge of said medical unit. I would conduct an inquiry against her if written complaint is submitted to me, he assured.
