RAWALPINDI: A man has allegedly been gunned down within Gujar Khan police jurisdiction. The police said the deceased Babar was in his shop when unidentified two armed motorcyclists barged into his shop and opened fire on him killing him on the spot. The assailants fled. The body was handed over to the family for burial after medico-legal formalities. The police have registered a case and started investigation. Meanwhile, a man was looted at gunpoint by two armed robbers within Airport jurisdiction. Shakeel Sultan a resident of Gujar Khan lodged a report with the local police stating that he was on way to home from Airport when two armed motorcyclists intercepted their taxi and snatched Rs 0.3 million, foreign currency, passport and other documents. The police have registered a case and started investigation. Two alleged burglars held; stolen items recovered: Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad police has nabbed two burglars involved in various burglary as well as theft incidents and recovered stolen items from their possession, a police spokesman said. Following few complaints about theft cases, he said that SSP (Operations) Sajid Kiani asked SP (Investigation) Muhammad Ilyas to ensure arrest of those involved in it. A special team including Sub-Inspector Muhammad Azam and Constables Zulfiqar Ali, Noor was constituted by him for prompt action. This team succeeded to nab two burglars including a proclaimed offender involved in various burglary incidents and recovered stolen items from them. They have been identified as Ikram s/o Bashir and Shehzad s/o Essa khan. Further investigation is underway from them.
