ISLAMABAD: The Federal Capital Police along with Pak Rangers and other security agencies have conducted search operation in various areas of the city and apprehended as many as one hundred suspects including twelve Afghan nation. According to details law enforcement agencies were conducting checking at slum areas, inns, hotels and restaurants. These measures were being taken to ensure foolproof security and keep vigilant eye on the suspected elements. According to police spokesman, Islamabad Police, Pak Rangers and other security agencies have conducted search operation in several areas of the police stations Secretariat, Industrial Area, Bara Kahu. During the operation they conduct search of 300 houses and took hundred suspects into custody. The areas where search operations were conducted including FaIzabad, Muslim Colony, Bara Kahu, Dhoke Gillani, Nan Sikh and adjoining areas. Search operation in Secretariat police station area was conducted by SP City Zone Zubair Ahmed Sheikh , SHO Secretariat Hakim KHan, police officials of Rescue 15, City Zone, Anti-Riot Unit and lady police. They arrested twelve suspects and more than 300 houses were searched. During the operation police also recovered arms, three motor bikes without documents from arrested persons while all of suspects were shifted to police station for further investigation. Meanwhile, search operation in Industrial area was conducted by ASP Industrial-Area, SHO Industrial Area, police officials of Rescue 15, City Zone, Anti-Riot Unit and lady police. Police nabbed 45 suspects including three Afghan nationals that were shifted to police station for further investigation. Later SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani said that the purpose of this search operation was to ensure high vigilance in the city and added that every effort will be made to ensure protection to the lives and property of citizens. He has also appealed the citizens to remain vigilant and inform police in case of any suspicious activity around them. Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), in wake of the recent spate of terror incident has augmented the security at all the country’s airports. According to the Spokesperson Ms Fareeha Shah here on Saturday, the CAA has decided to allow entry of one meeter/greeter at the airport for greeting the passengers at the time of departure or arrival. Seeking cooperation from the general public in this behalf, she expressed the hope that they would fully cooperate with the security and other staff at the airport by abiding by the principals set to ensure their own and their fellowmen security.
