ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways has decided to run five special trains to facilitate passengers on the eve of Eidul Fitr. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique. The meeting decided that additional coaches will also be attached with regular trains to cope up with rush of the passengers. The minister directed officers and staff to work round the clock to make the Eid operations successful. PIA: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced to reduce fares of domestic flights by 25 percent on the occasion of Eidul Fitr. In a post on social networking website Twitter, PIA wrote: “Special Eid Discount! 25 percent off on all domestic flights!” Earlier, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had predicted that Eidul Fitr will likely to take place on June 26. The new moon of Shawwal will be born on 7:31 on June 24 and will be visible on next day as the weather is expected to remain fair across the country. Rains: Early morning rain on Saturday turned the weather pleasant in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The rain inundated low-lying areas and caused problems for commuters who were travelling to work. Apart from Islamabad and Rawalpindi, the rain also lashed various areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Met Office has forecast more rain with dust and thunderstorm associated with gusty winds at few places in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, Kohat, Zhob divisions, FATA and Kashmir during next twelve hours. However, hot and dry weather is likely to prevail elsewhere in the country.
