ISLAMABAD: Apparently, the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI) wants former Intelligence Bureau (IB) chief Shoaib Suddle probe the murky deals of Pakistani politicians unearthed by the Panama leak. Sources told Daily Times that some party leaders made this stance public without explicit approval of PTI Chairman Imran Khan. A party statement quoted the chairman as saying that an independent inquiry commission must be constituted to be headed by Suddle. The statement added that being an expert on white-collar crime, Suddle enjoyed excellent reputation. Sources said some senior PTI leaders advised Khan to insist on Suddle’s name. While doing so, they either ignored certain key facts about Suddle or deliberately tried to embarrass Khan. It was learnt that the press statement was issued by the PTI media wing without Khan’s approval. Sources said the PTI chairman wanted more discussion on the matter, pleading good reputation was not the only criterion for anyone to head such an important commission.
