ISLAMABAD: The international media has given wide coverage to the Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan’s recent rebuke against US Presidential candidate Donald Trump, who claimed to ensure release of Dr Shakil Afridi, if elected. The Washington Post in its story titled “Pakistan calls Donald Trump ‘ignorant’ after Bin Laden comments” noted that US presidential election has finally made it to Pakistan where a top leader issued a blistering statement accusing Grand Old Party (GOP) front runner Donald Trump of being “ignorant” for demanding release of a doctor who helped CIA hunt down Osama Bin Laden in 2011. The newspaper highlighted Nisar’s statement in which he responded to comments made by Donald Trump on Fox News claiming, if elected, he would use the weight of presidency to force Pakistan to free Afridi. It quoted the minister as saying, “Pakistan is not a colony of the United States and he should learn to treat sovereign nations with respect.”
