ISLAMABAD: Scattered rains and dust storms are expected from today (Monday) to Thursday in Punjab, Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Azad Kashmir, the Met office reported on Sunday. The day temperatures are expected to fall 23 degree Celsius below normal after the rainfall. A fresh westerly wave reached Pakistan on Sunday evening that would cause intermittent showers and gusty winds in the plains of the country this week, says an official of the Met office. This westerly wave is also likely to result in isolated rain and dust storm in upper Sindh and northeastern Balochistan from Monday to Wednesday. Hot and dry weather is likely to prevail in most parts of the country in the next two days and the day temperatures are expected to remain 24 degree Celsius above normal in most parts of the country. Evening dust storms will be common in Punjab and KP this week. As hot and dry weather is expected in most ports of the country, farmers should complete wheat harvest and threshing.
