ISLAMABAD: The Federal police and security agencies have decided to gear up search operations under the National Action Plan (NAP) in the suburbs of the Federal Capital which are likely to be carried out on a large scale in the coming few days. The decision to accelerate the pace of search operations in the suburbs of Islamabad has been taken following the recovery of a huge cache of arms and information about the entry of alleged suicide bombers in Pakistan. According to security agencies providing information, eight suicide attackers entered into Pakistan from Afghanistan a few days back and Islamabad and Lahore can be their target. Therefore, it has been decided to widen the scope of search operations to locate the terrorists besides beefing up security in the Federal Capital. Search operations by security agencies were conducted in several areas including Bhara Kahu, Faizabad, I-9 and Pindora Chungi during the last days and arms in a large quantity were seized while the suspects who were arrested included foreigners as well.
