ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain has said the government believes in dignity of labourers and was committed to providing workers with better working conditions to compete globally. “I must emphasise that the workers and employers are partners in the production process and their mutual cooperation is essential for industrial and agricultural development of the country,” he said in a message on the eve of Labour Day. He mentioned various steps taken by the government for the welfare of the labourers, and stressed upon the need to raise their skills and productivity. “We celebrate Labour Day to pay tribute to the working men and women of our country who are central to achieving economic prosperity,” he said, adding, the day symbolises the strength and character of the Pakistani work force which has enabled the country to achieve higher rate of economic growth, higher production and higher levels of productivity.
