A long time ago, in the days before emoji and a swipe-to-text keyboard, the Motorola RAZR was the phone to have. You could flip it, set fun ringtones, use the camera to take terrible Myspace pictures, and feel like the coolest person ever. The year was 2004, and Motorola had just announced what was then an insanely thin flip phone, the RAZR V3. It was a head-turner! Such were the glorious days of Motorola. If you miss those days, don’t spend your days thinking about how things used to be – the RAZR is back. Lenovo released a new advertisement showcasing the RAZR that is expected to drop during Lenovo Tech World on June 9. The commercial does it justice – a video featuring a bunch of cool teens on their RAZR phones, the song “The Great Escape”, and a Hello Moto voice, ends with the ominous message TTYL. 6/9/16. According to Engadget, that’s the day of Lenovo Tech World and the brand is prepping a relaunch of this legendary model. Though Motorola’s official site offers nothing more than the promise of a newsletter when more information becomes available and the YouTube description on the video merely says, “Flip back to the Razr days of yesteryear and get ready for the future.” Engadget believes the relaunch will overshadow all other products Motorola is planning to release that day and will most likely be backed by Android. Flip back to the Razr days of yesteryear and get ready for the future. Well, our money’s on an Android refresh of the RAZR flip phone, and we’re already quite stoked about that.
