The designer collaborations just won’t stop! After a very successful partnering with Balmain, H&M has announced its next designer collaboration will be with Kenzo, the Parisian brand helmed by Carol Lim and Humberto Leon. According to a release from H&M, Kenzo was chosen as the latest collaborator on account of its “vibrant and playful” vibe that captures the energy of global culture to create its unique, youthful spirit. Very little details have been released thus far, but according to H&M’s press release, “Creative Directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon will bring the spirit of Kenzo to H&M, creating collections for women and men as well as accessories.” Kenxo x H&M will be available in over 250 selected H&M stores worldwide, as well as online, beginning November 3, 2016. H&M and Kenzo announced that their new collaboration is something to be excited about. The full collection will debut on the catwalk. While the runway show won’t take place until October, we can already feel the hype. Kenzo designers Lim and Leon spoke to Vogue about the marriage of the two brands and what we can expect. “There’s a femininity, there’s fun. There’s a tactile approach to techniques and embroideries, embellishments,” Leon said. H&M Design Head Ann-Sofie Johansson promises pieces that are playful. “Balmain was glamorous and this is vibrant, young, and fun.” While details on the clothing and accessories are scarce, we’re expecting mixed prints and colours galore, a must-have sweatshirt or two and some funky, off-kilter silhouettes that are special enough to warrant avenue-long lines of fans camping outside of H&M stores. While only one video has been released so far, our imaginations are already running wild.
