A tiny pup who touched hearts when he was rescued by animal control officers and found to be a meth addict has been rehoused with a new family. Bubba was found close to death earlier this year in a hotel with drug paraphernalia on the ground. Brian Frick, a supervising animal control officer who was investigating along with the Tustin Police Department, said he saw the dog, then aged just eight weeks, “lying listless” on the floor of the establishment in Tustin, California. “He was so cold and lethargic, I thought it was just he’d been taken from his mom too soon. I never suspected he may have gotten into drugs,” reports Sick Chirpse. After being nursed back to health by OC Animal Care, Bubba got cleaned up and, while his previous owner Joshua West, 40, was arrested for possession of class A drugs, he’s got a new home. OC Animal Care Assistant Director Katie Ingram, told the OC Register, “They were a really nice couple and told us that Bubba would have a sister. Bubba bonded with them immediately. It made it more meaningful that they were able to help him out because of his rough start in life.” The couple now have Bubba at home, and Katie Ingram says she knows they’ll make him happy, “We were happy they are home quite a bit. It’s what he deserves.”
