‘Beauty & the Beast’ fans can now get their hands on an everlasting rose – just like in the film. The incredible blooms can live as long as three years without needing sunlight or water – and if they stay underneath a clear glass dome, they could even live forever. The flowers come in nearly 30 different colours, and the most popular style is the Bella Rose, inspired by Belle, the lead character played by Emma Watson in the hit film. The enchanted rose, which became synonymous with the 1991 Disney version of the story, is given to a prince by an old woman who begs him for food. When he turns down her request, the woman reveals herself to be a beautiful enchantress and turns him into a beast. The enchantress left him the rose, promising him that it would bloom until his twenty-first year, and warning him that he had until then to learn to love or he would remain a beast forever. The beast keeps the rose in a glass dome – just like the one that is now up for sale from Forever Rose London. The company started in the UK, but has now grown in popularity in the Middle East, where the roses sell for hundreds of pounds. A single stem Bella rose in a glass dome – available in 18 colours – starts from £225. According to the brand, the roses are “one hundred percent natural” and are “derived from the mineral rich volcanic soils of Ecuador in South America”. The company claims that its roses “last for many years without water or sunlight” and “set themselves apart with their uniquely strong petals which grow up to ten times thicker and five times larger than any other blooms available on the market”.
