LAHORE: Nine years after the assasination of former Prime Miniter and Pakistan People’s Party leader Benazir Bhutto, an anti-terrorism court has sentenced two police officers to 17 years of prison for ‘negligence’ under Sections 119 and 201 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Judge Muhammad Asghar Khan announced the verdict on Thursday following the completion of the arguments of the police officers CPO Saud Aziz and SP Rawal Town Khurram Shahzad’s lawyers on Wednesday. While five others accused in the case were aquitted, Former President of Pakistan General (r) Pervez Musharraf was declared to be a proclaimed offender in the verdict due to his failure to appear in the court.
