LAHORE: Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan expressed his views over United States President Donald Trump’s remarks on Pakistan. PTI Chairman regarded Trump’s Afghan strategy as a failed strategy in his tweet earlier and during his press conference today, he called it as a proof of his lack of understanding of the region. He further accused Trump of blaming Pakistan for US’s own failures in the war. “Over 150, 000 Nato soldiers were deployed in Afghanistan [by America], billions were spent, thousands of Afghans were killed. The world’s most powerful military machinery could not control [the situation in Afghanistan] and Pakistan is being held responsible for the failures,” Imran Khan said. He further said that Trump’s remarks were unacceptable since Pakistan has been one of the greatest contributors in the war on terror despite the fact that not a single Pakistani was involved in the 9/11 attacks. He also criticized Trump for asking India for help when India does not even share a border with Afghanistan. Imran Khan also urged the government to send out a strong message to the US.
