Invented by Catherine Hettinger in Florida in the 90’s. The intention of creating a fidget spinner was to help children with Autism and ADHD. Researchers believe that it would help the children relieve their tension and stress after a tough day at school. Some people have also gone to the extent of claiming that the fidget spinner improved their concentration and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The spinners are now made from different component, such as; gold, silver, plastic and even peacock feathers. Till now, more than 5 million spinners have been sold and the producers now stand at a whooping net worth of $500million. However the one who invented the spinner does not benefit at all.
