Russia to base anti-submarine aircraft in Venezuela

MOSCOW: Russia plans temporarily to base anti-submarine aircraft in Venezuela, foreign ministry spokesman Andrei Nesterenko said on Monday. Russia plans “temporarily to base anti-submarine aircraft of the Russian Navy at an airport in Venezuela,” Nesterenko said, also confirming that a nuclear-armed cruiser would visit the South American country by year’s end. afp
