Zardari condemns killings in Waziristan attack
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday condemned an attack by US forces on a village in South Waziristan Agency that killed over 20 people. Zardari called the attack an outrageous and unacceptable violation of the territorial integrity of the country, adding that such incidents undermined the efforts aimed at curbing militancy and extremism. He called for a thorough investigation into the incident and urged foolproof measures to prevent such incidents in future. He also said that the victims of the attack should be compensated. Zardari said that it was imperative for the fight against militancy to succeed that any action on the Pakistani side of the border was taken only by the Pakistani forces and not by the coalition forces in violation of Pakistan's territorial sovereignty. online
