ISLAMABAD: The introduction of high-speed broadband in the country is already showing positive results as Pakistan’s app exports have started flourishing, generating a revenue of more than US $ 10 million every month this year. The skill and talent of local developers easily meet all global requirements of designing mobile applications and appeal to many foreign clients. Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) reports that Pakistani app developers are not only designing mobile apps for the local market, but also growing their share in the export sector and, hence, contributing precious foreign exchange to the national kitty. Even though the competition in the global market is fierce, Pakistani companies are still managing to hold their share in the pie through their expertise and excellent performance. This trend needs to be further encouraged to speed up the revenue since business interaction with foreign clients is attractive in terms of both values and knowledge acquisition, Chief Executive Officer, SI Global Solutions said. The CEO said that Pakistanis are unique in their innovation with regard to designing apps with a creative and user-friendly interface. However, business with foreign clients also means that a pristine quality of work is to be expected every time. The mobile applications should be designed on native platforms to truly take advantage of the OS whether it’s Android or iOS. A rise in the use of smartphones with high-speed internet means that businesses, as well as government functionaries, are adopting the easiest ways of connecting with masses–through mobile apps. This can help them reap most benefits in the society. However, the trend still needs to continue in a sustainable manner. The trend of introducing mobile apps is now emergent in the local market. This increase in adaptability is definitely a good news for the producers as it shows a rise in the public confidence in using mobile apps and technology for both personal and commercial needs. Nevertheless, this technological tool should still be designed in a way that builds mutual trust and provides benefit to its users. IT and Telecom experts have often explained that native apps are both smooth and efficient. They serve the intended purpose quite well when opposed to copied apps with a limited functionality and extensive restrictions in terms of functional amendments. If corporations need to add features to their apps, they can only utilise native apps for these needs. At present, the utility of mobile apps is very low in Pakistan because a majority of the users still have feature handsets. However, the future seems bright because of an ever-increasing smartphone adoption. Even though people in Pakistan are reluctant to use paid apps, freemium versions have established themselves as a great alternative solution. The experts have repeatedly postulated that a competition among the software houses and mobile app developers is quite healthy but they should still flex their muscles to design and produce apps for next-gen watches and smart television sets that have a broader appeal worldwide.
