KARACHI: The Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FPCCI) and the Pakistan Britain Business Council (PBBC) Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to boost trade ties between Pakistan & UK. The MoU was signed by FPCCI Vice President Ishtiaq Baig and Pakistan Britain Business Consul Chairman Julian Hamilton at a reception organised by the Pakistan High Commission London. Pakistani High Commissioner to UK Ibne Abbas, Deputy High Commissioner Zahid Hafiz, newly appointed UK’s Trade Minister Rehman Chisti, CEOs and directors of leading Pakistani and British companies witnessed the signing ceremony. Besides, London Chamber of Commerce, office of the Mayor of London, London Stock Exchange, Standard Chartered Bank, Marks & Spencer, Debenhams, UK Department of International Trade (DIT), Heads of UBL & HBL, members of parliament were also present. A high-powered 30-member business delegation of the FPCCI led by Vice President Ishtiaq Baig is currently visiting UK and having B2B meetings with the local businessmen to explore the potential of enhancing bilateral trade and investment between the two countries. The UK Pakistan Chamber of Commerce also organised a reception in honour of FPCCI delegation and held B2B meetings with the delegates. Published in Daily Times, September 26th 2017.
