ISLAMABAD: Senate’s Standing Committee on Finance Chairman Salim Mandiwala on Wednesday said the government had not issued the right statement of budget deficit that is going to stay wrong at eight per cent throughout this year. Mandiwala gave a statement on Wednesday (May 25) that government has given the wrong statement and did not include the circular debt which is a part of budget deficit. His words were, “The problem of circular debit has not been resolved despite payment of Rs500 billion. The circular debt still stands at over Rs350 billion.” “The government should tell about the budget deficit after including circular debt in the upcoming budget”, he added.
