KARACHI: Domestic gold prices improved by Rs 148 per 10 grammes to Rs 39,155 per ten grammes primarily due to buying. Gold was available at $1,162 an ounce in international market with $4 rise per ounce, traders said. The prices of the yellow metal were around Rs 45,622 per tola in the local markets. “Although the international gold prices declined by $2 per ounce on previous day, locally the prices went up because of this interest shown by buyers of Dubai,” said Humayoon Ahmad Mani, member Karachi Jewellers Association. He said those who invest in fine gold also showed interest and indulged in buying of the yellow metal, which pushed its prices up. The prices of gold are within buyers’ range globally due to high international crude oil prices and the depreciating US currency in the international currency markets. It is also having a rising impact on local bullion prices.
