KARACHI: The greenback closed flat in interbank trading and depressed in the open market on mixed demand by the corporate sector besides dull payments for import bills. The dollar closed at Rs 104.40 for buying and Rs 104.60 for selling with no change. The difference of the dollar rates between the interbank and kerb markets stayed to Rs 2.60 on average. Commercial banks remained watchful on inflows and outflows of the US dollar in the market and State Bank of Pakistan provided sufficient support to commercial banks to stabilize the local currency. The euro closed flat at Rs 111.58 for buying and Rs 111.78 for selling. It gained 01 paisa. The pound sterling slightly up by 07 paisas to close at Rs 130.63 and Rs 130.83 for buying and selling, respectively.
