KARACHI: The greenback edged lower in value versus the domestic unit in the interbank and wasflat in the open market after insignificant demand, treasurers reported. The dollar shed 15 paisas to close at Rs 104.45 for buying and Rs 104.65 for selling in the interbank. The gap of the greenback rates between the interbank and kerb markets remained at Rs 1.44on the day’s average. Commercial banks made payments for imports, while forex inflow remained between $6 million to $6.5 million, bankers stated. They revealed that the State Bank of Pakistan did not make any intervention in the market, as there was sufficient liquidity in the banks. The domestic currency remained stable against the dollar while greenback’s demand for different payments was still on the cards. The euro shed18 paisas in the interbank to close at Rs 112 for buying and Rs 112.20 for selling. Whereas the pound sterling remained down,to close at Rs 133.65 and Rs 133.85 for buying and selling, respectively. It shed 44 paisas. Kerb Market: The dollar closed flat in the open currency market on dull demand. The greenback closed at Rs 106.10 for buying and Rs 106.30 for selling in the open market.
