KARACHI: Ambassador of Morocco Mohmed Karmoune visited FPCCI Head Office to felicitate the newly-elected president and office bearers of the federation. During the brief discourse, the ambassador emphasized the importance of better trade relations between the two countries in different areas. He said that the exchange of trade delegations between the two countries was essential to identify the trade potential between the two countries for the expansion of bilateral trade. Mango Festival at 5 different cities held first time in Morocco from 7-8 August, 2016 coupled with fruit festival from 22- 30 October, 2016 by the Embassy of Pakistan in Morocco was a great success. Aamer Ata Bajwa, Senior Vice President, FPCCI appreciated the remarks of the Ambassador for the offer of working together to exploit economic opportunities for Pakistan. He further said that for the enhancement of trade and the economic sector, investors and businessmen are willing to explore the opportunities being offered by Morocco. He further suggested that both countries should arrange Single Country Exhibitions on reciprocal basis. Speaking on the occasion S.M. Muneer, Chief Executive, TDAP assured the Moroccan Ambassador that TDAP will soon organize a Pakistani Single Country Exhibition in Morocco to introduce traditional and non-traditional goods to boost exports for mutual benefit. Ishtiaq Baig, Vice President, FPCCI and Honorary Counsel General of Morocco and Chairman of Pakistan – Morocco Business Council of FPCCI said that at present the volume of bilateral trade between both the countries is only $14 million and Pakistan would like to increase its exports in the coming years. He further added that Pakistan – Morocco Joint Business Council has been facilitating the business community of both the countries to expand trade with each other. He further suggested that a Joint Ministerial meeting is long overdue for several years and hoped that both governments shall hold this meeting at the earliest.
