RAWALPINDI: Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) on Thursday organised an entrepreneurship fair to motivate the young business women into establishing their businesses and guiding on how to become successful entrepreneurs. Ministry of Commerce National tariff Commission Member Robina Ather was the chief guest of the event – which displayed at least 60 different stalls including that of FJWU’s current students, alumni and established business women from the twin cities. A large number of visitors including students, women and children attended the event – which exhibited products and services including personality assessment, pottery, paintings, photography, clothing, bedding jewellery, handicrafts and food items. Punjab Small Industry Corporation regional director, presidents of Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce among other dignitaries spoke on women entrepreneurship. FJWU Vice Chancellor Samina Amin Qadir, speaking on the occasion, said that the varsity is committed to provide its students with trainings and market exposure. Robina Ather said that women in the present day have been recognised as indivisible part of the global struggle for a stable economy. “Same is the case in Pakistan where women have recently become the symbol of change. Now, educated, gifted and qualified females can enter virtually any business,” said the chief guest. She further elaborated that the FJWU has been playing an important role to train the young females – by inducing confidence and providing a platform to show case their talents.
