AWARAN: Four militants were killed by security forces on Sunday. Security officials said that an operation was conducted against miscreants in Awaran district. “The militants who had taken shelter in the area offered resistance, which led to an exchange of gunfire. As a result, four militants were killed,” officials said. Separately, security forces seized a huge cache of explosives and ammunition during a search operation on Sunday. Security sources said that Frontier Constabulary (FC) and intelligence agencies conducted a joint operation against militants in Pir Sehri and Pir Koh areas of Dera Bugti. During the joint operation, the security forces seized arms and ammunition including 32 kilogrammes of explosives, two remote control bombs, missile fuses and detonators. Separately, 11 suspects were arrested and more than 190 weapons were seized during an operation conducted by FC Balochistan and the local police in Kili Deba, Quetta under Operation Raddul Fasaad. A joint police-FC operation was launched in parts of the provincial metropolis late Friday night in view of the recent spate of target killings and bombings in Quetta. “More than 3,000 security personnel and 208 teams – also comprising 208 women personnel – are participating in the operation,” said Quetta FC Commander Brig Khalid Baig on Saturday.
