BANNU: All Parties Siyasi Ittihad of North Waziristan on Monday demanded compensation of the destroyed houses and markets as per the United Nations Declaration. Addressing a press conference at the Bannu Press Club, leaders of the organisation, including Noor Payo Khan, Akbar Khan, Farhad Ali, Ghulam Khan and others said that the affected tribes-people would not accept any compensation under the Frontier Crimes Regulations (FCR). They said that commercial centers in Mir Ali, Patisi Adda, Miranshah, Dattakhel, Degan and Spinwam were destroyed in the operation Zerb-e-Azb. More than 13,000 shops and commercial centers along with commodities were destroyed during the operation, resulting in a huge loss to the traders, they claimed. They said that no one in the country paid any heed to the requests of tribes-people for compensation and the visit of the United Nations team offered them a hope that their losses would be compensated. Siyasi Ittihad leaders rejected the compensation under the FCR and warned of a protest campaign in Islamabad if the affected tribes-people were not compensated in accordance with the Declaration of Basic Principles of Justice for Victims of Crime and Abuse of Power. They announced to hold a grand jirga at the Qazi Fazl Qadir Shaheed Park to devise future line of action.
