QUETTA: Council of Islamic Ideological (CII) Chairman MNA Maulana Muhammad Khan Sherani on Wednesday said there should be no difference between good and bad militants, and said the authorities would have to take strict measures to rid the country of militancy and terrorism. Thousands of people had been killed in acts of terrorism during last few years, he said. “Innocent people were killed in Quetta Civil Hospital’s suicide blast and bodies of the lawyers were sent to their native areas from Zhob to Gwadar,” Sherani said. He said this while addressing public meetings in Quetta, Toba Achakzai and Toba Kakari organised by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl. He stressed the need to promote culture of harmony and tolerance, especially religious harmony to make our society peaceful. “Extremism and terrorism damaged peace of the country and it is need of hour to control them on war footing basis,” he said. He demanded opening of Pak-Afghan Friendship Gate in border town of Chaman, and said that thousands of people were suffering due to closure of the border. “Traders of both the countries have also been suffering loss of millions of rupees due to close of border,” he said.
