KHUZDAR: Pakistan is a reality and moving forward is not possible without accepting it. Our elders rendered sacrifices for the creation of Pakistan. We are also following in their footsteps, said Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri on Sunday. Zehri was addressing a ceremony held to mark the fourth death anniversary of martyrs of Zehri at Anjeera. On April 16, 2013, Nawab Zehri’s convoy was ambushed during the election campaign. His son, brother and nephew died in the attack. “Those labelling us agents of establishment are in fact the agents of Indian spy agencies. Punjabis are our brothers and we always speak with them on parity. Brahamdagh, Herbier Marri and Javaid Mengal must remember Balochistan is not their personal property. We are the true heirs of Balochistan. We are among our own people,” he said. ‘I invite all the misled youth again to come under the flag of Pakistan. We are ready to hug them. We gave peace to Balochistan and are developing it,” he said. Frontier Constabulary IG Major General Nadeem Anjum, provincial ministers Aslam Bizenjo, Nawab Muhammad Khan Shahwani, Adviser Muhammad Khan Lehri, MPAs Muhammad Akbar Askani, Asim Kurd Galloo, Prince Ahemd Ali, PML-N Provincial Secretary General Naseebullah Bazai and others also addressed the ceremony. 33rd Division GoC Major General Muhammad Zaki, Sector Commander Rahat Siddiq, Senator Nematullah Zehri, Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti and others were also present. People from Quetta, Khuzdar, Zehri, Surab, Mekran, Sarawan, Nasirabad, Sibi, Pishin, Sindh and Punjab also attended. Zehri said his sons had sacrificed their lives for Pakistan. “I cannot forget their sacrifices. These will be remembered in history,” he said. The CM said that he had been threatened with death for taking part in elections. “I disregarded these threats. They targeted my children,” he said. The CM said that he wanted to send the message to the terrorists that he would continue to contest the elections. “People were fed up with the terrorists in 2013. When we assumed the government, both the military and political leadership jointly worked to ensure peace in Balochistan. Now we are developing Balochistan and there is great difference between the Balochistan of yesterday and of today,” he said. Zehri said that the “elements” sitting abroad were trying to use the youth for their nefarious designs. “Social media is not the criteria for liberation, in fact, the Baloch people stand for prosperous and peaceful Pakistan,” the chief minister said. He said if the suspected militants [ferraris] shuned violence and came down from mountains, they would be welcomed by the government. He, however, clarified that the writ of the government would be ensured at all cost. The Balochistan FC chief said Balochistan’s role was important for the country and its masses have sacrificed a lot for the restoration of peace. He said the province played a pivotal role in making Pakistan an atomic power.
